I played my 3rd show with it last night and man, I'm sold on this. It sounds and sits in the mix like a proper amp. In fact watching the videos of the last 3 shows, the guitar actually sounds
bigger in the mix than I usually get with my amps, I guess because since it's DI, soundguys are not "afraid" to turn it up.
I'm surprised there are not more people dumping their modeling and switching to them, because they're infinitely better than any digital modeling out there. It's not even a fair comparison. I'm seriously considering just going DI live moving forward, the IR-D completely solved any issues I had with it.
There are a couple guys on TGP whining about the send having some digital converters. "I was lied to and scammed!"

That makes me like it even more.
TGP is funny. What's the issue with digital converters in the FX Send? What are they going to put in the loop? Oh, a digital delay? Guess what digital delays have?

Their long term plan is to do most of the Synergy models in this format so there will be at least one ENGL model.

Oh fuck. That’s cool!! I would buy the PBII version for sure. That module was my favorite by far.

Yeah they will also do the IICP. Maybe even the 6505, since synergy has a module.

Wait, Friedman is doing an IR-IICP? I’m absolutely selling my Tech 21 Liverpool Deluxe, to pay for one.
EDIT: I’m selling it, anyway: The Friedman IR-X and IR-D have headphone jacks, so I can practice plugged-in, albeit quietly.

It will be Synergy branded, not Friedman, but yes, they're working on a IICP, SLO and a few others. Basically the Synergy modules in the IR-X format. There's no ETA for them yet, so it will probably come out next year.
