I need to invest on a proper camera and editing software, but I have no idea what to buy.
should have kept that Q8.... just get Final Cut Pro if you have a Mac.... for $300 you get a whole lot of video editing software with no license BS like Adobe... keep in mind most pro cameras don't do massive file sizes, typically top out at 4GB and you join them in post

I don't have a Mac so I think Final Cut Pro is not an option for me. But yeah I might buy another one if that's an issue with every camera.

I don't know shit about video production: lol: I think that's the real issue.

I had a zoom g3 like 12 years ago. It was ok for what it was and what it cost. I gave it to one of my friends, who I think still uses it

I don't think it's a camera issue as much as a recording media issue, if I remember correctly it depends on how the media is formatted it can't create a file larger than 4GB or some shit like that... but I know it's a normal thing, I do think there are some cameras that can create one massive file... but... to be honest I like getting the 4GB files since you can find the file that has the clip you want and just have to copy one 4GB file to Vs a 20GB file to get a 5 minute clip

Yep, if the card is FAT32 then the max file size is 4 GB. No way around that, other than to use a different format.

Why not just kick him in the shins too while you are at it?
