I looked it up, it was the Tornado Stealth 65. Honestly I’ve posted some clips and most thought they sounded really good. Nice bottom end, relaxed but even sounding mids. Slight boost in the treble. If I could perfect them, I’d lessen the treble a touch. But they aren’t super bright or anything. Just a bit thinner sounding in the high than I like but I could still find a good mic position to capture a full tone without much problem

Yeah, Endtime’s Tornado 65 clips also sounded excellent.

I think the stuff I'm looking at currently is 150 and 135ish. Seems like a decent price already.

Yeah that’s not bad at all. My Silverbirds were $99 each.

For 10s? That seems like a reasonable asking price.

Completely reasonable. Less than the equivalent Webers, Eminence or Celestions. The Falcons I was looking at are around $70 each also. I may still try those sometime in a different amp.

I have a quad of Raptors in my FatBottom 4x12 and they are so freaking good! Definitely a good choice for 70/80s metal. I wouldn't overlook the C12K2 speakers either. As far as the Electric Lightning and Nighthawk speakers, they actually sound great mixed. I don't know if 70/80s metal is their forte (they seem a bit more modern to me), but they do sound good for modern metal.

Just for discussion purposes, for 70s/80s rock and metal, I am referring to: Dio, later Sabbath (with Dio), Priest, Megadeth, Van Halen, KISS, Aerosmith, Queensryche, White Lion, Whitesnake, Blue Murder, Frehley's Comet, King's X, Dokken, Lynch Mob, Ratt, Def Leppard, Accept, etc.

The Raptor is the speaker I think that would cover those bands the best. The Electric Lightning should be able to do that too. I personally think that Raptor would be my first choice.

Thanks for the insight, Cole. Have you tried any in an X pattern or top/bottom mixed setup?
