I think I'm going to buy a Sunface PCB off pedalpcb and try my hand again at making a clone using my NKT275's
I actually have a lot of matched sets of different Ge trannies that I should use up

Verify those NKT275s are real. Analog Mike has for years said the supplies of NKT275s are almost entirely fake these days. He buys them in hoards and throws away the majority of them since they're not real. They haven't been made since the early 70s and real ones are very hard to find.

Yeah that was a concern when I purchased them, but I bought off ebay in 2015 from the guy from Elite Tone effects. At the time a lot of people from the DIY sites who had bought some claimed they were legit Newmarket transistors, so there's a very good chance they are real.

So if someone wanted to get a Sunface with germanium transistors but not hunt for unobtainium NKTs or pay stupid prices on reverb for pedals that have them, what transistors would you guys recommend? I’m thinking either BARTs or just sticking with their stock 2Ns they use now.

Of the current rop, I'd probably go for the old GE transistor. My Beano Boost has one and it's vicious in that pedal. But the 2N would be rad too.
