They're both really great. VII is a lot more modern.

Maybe have the JP dialed a bit dark here.

Yup, definitely agree lol. Still too much. Get that JP back down to $2650, and the VII at that same price.

Mesa amps shouldn't be anywhere near the Friedman/Soldano/Bogner range.
