they are just kind of honky and raspy in the top end for the kind of metal we do, with friedmans which always sound smoother i could see them maybe working. i been digging the good ol' T75s lately, 65s are cool too. i gotta do another speaker comparison soon, i think i have 10 or 11 different ones here, couple of them i havent even recorded yet
I've always liked T75s, to me they are that early thrash sound. I was running 2 v30s and 1 T75 in my 3x12 for awhile, it sounded good. I wish I had space for more cabs.... You are living the good life man!

Iol I don’t have that many cabs, I have a 4x12 and a 2x12 with all different speakers in them just for recording, works great

Years ago I ran my Recto into Greenbacks. It was cool. Smoothed out the Recto's chainsaw while adding their own distortion to the mix.

I prefer V30s, but Greenbacks are a very close second.

This sounds much better than I expected, as 6505+ has so much upper mids. OG 5150/6505 with Greenbacks and the mids dialed back to 2.5 or 3 and I think you'd be much happier. I love how the 6505+/5150II sounds in other players hands but doesn't work for me either. The OG 5150/6505 on the other hand os one of my top 5 all time. Get one!
