It’s here!

Clips!

First is pedal by itself with my Strat. Gain at 10 o clock. Tone at 9:30 (tone control is super subtle). Volume at 11. After first long stop I up the gain to 3:00. Roll back the gain later and add the DM for some delay. Finally I roll gain to 9:30 and use it to boost the Astoria.

Had some time with this guy. It can be a bright pedal on its own. The tone control is kind of subtle in its sweep, that being said it seems to like humbuckers and darker single coils well. A boost in front to tighten lows and highs can help. My SD-1 is usually always on and wasn’t in the clip above. So hence the brightness. I could also add my EP booster at the end of my chain to simulate the Echoolex preamp too. Possibilities. I really need to get a proper EQ pedal. Nothing crazy. Just a fish n chips or something like a GE-7. Or even a cheap Amazon thing.

I didn’t record this part of it but god damn I love how it sounds when you roll back the volume. It does that Fuzz Face halo around clean notes thing. I love that. At first listen I wasn’t super wowed with this pedal but the more I play with it the more I like it. Matt at SUF did a cool thing here. Not sure how many left in the market. I think mines an earlier one. It’s #22 of this model.

Really happy to have a second SUF in my arsenal. If he announces another Red Army run that will be my third. Otherwise I’ll grab a Civil War and that should cover my Muff bases.

Mine is #51 and I got it before you!
I guess they just grab a box off the shelf when someone orders one?

I agree... at first, I was like, this is definitely a good pedal... and it grows on you and becomes a REALLY NICE pedal!
By itself, it sounds great on my Jubilee reissue and it boosts well with the PLX FX Bion.

Def getting a Red Menace... after I pay off some bills.

Thanks! I’m trying to record more and play more under a mic in general. Not so much for any reason but to help me tighten things up. And yeah the Astoria boosted was sex. Just thick, syrupy sex.

Yeah at first play I was like “am I sure about this?” But the more I played it the more I liked it. Then I hit my Phaser and started ham-fisting my way through Time and I gotta say it captures some DSotM vibes. This pedal rabbit hole is something else. I love it.

Dude it’s such a fun wormhole hahaha. I think I’m gonna get some more fuzz friendly speakers for this Vibrolux sooner than later. Because god damn I’m loving it with my Greenback cab and the Creamback IRs. The amp is such a mutt anyway. It’s a 76, but cosmetically it’s blackfaced and the original speakers are long gone anyway. Replaced OT (previous was blown and only putting out 5 watts). Tubes and most components outside filter caps and power cable are original. I keep leaning to Creamback 10s and may try some.

Dude thanks so much. I’m always self conscious of my noodling when recording so I know it’s not always great. But I figure if the tones and sounds help someone out, then I’m doing something right.
