Yeah, idk. I guess it would give you some of the flavor of the real amp....

But it'd be as close as drinking strawberry Kool Aid is to eating fresh strawberries.... Yeah the basic flavor is there but ...

I've got 2 - a Hot Cat 15 and an old Lynx 50. The Lynx is my all-time #1. And Billy played it before I bought it at Atomic iirc. They're built like tanks and weigh as much as one too.

They're a little weird to get used to. Sometimes it feels like every knob is just a different version of a gain control. But damn they sound good.

Oh yeah!!! That Lynx at Atomic was amazing!!! I had forgotten that you bought it. Such a killer amp.

I’ve got a couple lines on a couple different Black Cat 30s so I’m gonna pull the trigger on one of those. Mainly looking for the matchless style cleaner to midgain tones else I’d have gone in on a Hot Cat. Or a Lynx actually. That one crossed my mind too. It was super tempting actually. But I want to have an EL84 type amp in the stable vs another EL34 amp, even class A. Should have a NAD to report soon, all the same!

I played the Jet Black a few months back at a local shop. It was a LOT gainier than I expected, but sounded great. The matchless Chieftan has always been one of my "one day, if I win the lottery, I will own this" amps since I played one many years back. The tonex capture of it from WT sounds pretty darn close to what I remember and I use it mixed with the helix Bogner Ecstacy blue channel or the Matchstick model in stereo most of the time.

Trigger pulled. NAD incoming. Black Cat 30 head (no reverb, pre K-master). I’m excited
