This sounds great in the room combo format, but damn, plugging into my widebody 1x12 is extra sweet. Ideally I’d like to keep this as a combo and not start going down the road of head conversions etc…. Probably will ultimately be determined after a test at band practice mixed up thru in ears. Can beast mode it as a “4x12” with the combo and my 2x12 at drummers combined

Mic’d speaker definitely determining factor. If it fucks like that then that’s fine for live, and then plugging into one of my cabs at home for superior “in the room” sound is easy no big deal

Thanks !! Been digging this so much I already went ahead and ordered a third party footswitch. Lack there of has been annoying but have been getting adept at toggling channels with my big toe

EDIT: maybe aside of the korg workstation I bought for $40 at the ARC that I was able to trade for the majority cost of an SG special lol

Yeah man, the F-100 is a real sleeper amp. I regret selling mine. The clean channel is like a perfected Twin Reverb and the gain channel is monstrous.

Do the serial loop mod, it is simple and definitely worth it

Agree with this assessment for sure! I can definitely see the similarities to the express 5:50+ but the gain channel is waaaay more brutal and aggressive

I was a little apprehensive about the parallel loop (especially after my experiences with how shockingly awful the parallel loop was on my old rectoverb 50) but honestly I have no complaints about this loop, even with my hyper specific looper pedal situation

Is the mod similar to how it’s done on rectos?

Thanks man!! Probably one of the best gear deals I’ve had to date lol. Like Billy said clean channel is definitely twin on steroids vibe so been getting my Jerry on with the dire wolf (despite no JBLs )

Honestly I’m a little paranoid my clumsy ass is gonna end up breaking the toggle switch while doing this. Footswitch can’t get here fast enough!

Yeah same as the Recto mod.


When I had mine, I wired up a DIN to TS jack adaptor and wired the DIN cable so the Reverb and Contour were always on, and I just used a generic 1-button footswitch to change channels. That made the amp work with the same footswitch I already had on my board for the DSL etc... and the F series footswitch is way too big, given that I didn't need to turn the reverb on/off and only used the contour voicing.
