I'm very strongly considering a JCM900 Studio and if I like it, possibly a JCM800 Studio when Sweetwater gets them in (says March, but who knows for sure).

I don’t necessarily think so but that’s just me. Wouldn’t hurt to try it though. You could also grab a full size Marshall and use the PS with that. A 1987 with a PS would be a thing of beauty.

Not necessary. Although the 800 greatly benefits from some power tube saturation, and that gets loud, even at 20w. The 900 and Jubilee sound good at any volume.

The Marshall studio series fucks. I had the Plexi and really enjoyed it. The 800 is just as cool, as is the Jube.

I haven't tried the 900 but I'm sure it's nice.

Yep - tried all three of those and they are legit. If I were buying a Marshall today it would probably be the Plexi

If you’re using the power station I’d get the SV20 or the 800.

Both of them sound amazing through a proper load box. Otherwise as Billy mentioned, they get really loud. Keeping them tame with the load box will yield the exact Marshall tones you’re looking for.
