I always used 10-46 but when my first Solar came with 9-46 I was sold.

I too was 12’s in standard forever but have come down to normal sizes. I think if I was still playing live where I like to dig in and have a good time I’d still go thicker, but for recording I noticed playing with a little lighter grip sounds better, and thinner strings are just easier

I've been doing the D'Addario balanced tension 10's a half step down for a while now. It feels right.

I don't think I ever used 9-46 but I can see myself liking that as a good compromise between 9s and 10s. I'll buy a few sets and see if I like them.
I've always wanted GHS to make a .10-.42 set. I think that would be the best compromise.

10's are my favorite for Standard and E flat tuning.
Although, I used 9's for a while, I like to bash the strings and 10's seem to stand up to a beating a little better.
13's sound awesome for rhythm but are finger killers... and forget about bending a note!!!

I used 10-46 exclusively most of my life. I put 9-42 on my Tele when I got my first one about 8 years ago because I wanted a slinkier feel and it felt so good I started using them on everything but my Les Paul. 9's don't feel right to me on my Les Paul.
