Wasn't there a TV show or something with them? I know there was some follow-up to the original movie. It had Mel Torme singing Big Bottom in a booth in some cafe, and David St. Hubbins saying, "Oh, I'm wet" after. Nobody but me and one friend seem to remember this moment of significance, yet I remember it distinctly.

At any rate, I'm in. Hopefully Lars shows up just long enough to make fun of himself. Or blow up on the drum throne.

That's from one of three things. There was a Spinal Tap home video in 1992 called The Return of Spinal Tap. They also were in an episode of Mad TV in Season 8. And they did some skits in Amnesty International's Big 3-0, also known as The Secret Policeman's Ball in some years.

I have a feeling that Chad Smith will take the throne and die a horrible death in the movie. I'd rather see that from Kiedis, but I can hope.

It was "The Return of Spinal Tap," I'm about 95% sure.

Smith has enough of a sense of humor he'd probably enjoy showing up just long enough to get a good on-stage death scene.

I just hope its good. I have faith. A Mighty Wind was a great movie too in a similar genre with all the same people. So as of whenever that came out, 20-ish years ago, they hadn't forgot how to do it.
Gear: A little of this, a little of that

Here's some trivia for you. Christopher Guest was in a country/bluegrass/folk band with Arlo Guthrie when they were in boarding school together. He was in Loudon Wainwright's band after this. I'm not exactly sure how that led to him being the world's biggest Saxon fan.
