I usually don't have an issue with digital gear but this pedal is particularly counterintuitive to program. I get that they tried to keep the look of the old rack unit, but a proper screen like the one on the DD-500 would have been a big improvement.eyeball987 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:54 am The above comments are my main gripe with these types of units. If you are a tweaker, they are great! I am not, and find them annoying until I find what I want, and then forget how to use them again.
I lean toward using Youtube, or Billy, for advice on how tweak the digital stuff. And then forget how to use it again after I get what I want. Age and not giving an F about opinions probably has something to do with it.

I wonder if Boss could've made that a tad more cryptic.

Got my DM101. It's AWESOME. This is my kind of thing. Man. Beautiful.
The only negative = the dropout between presets.
minor negative = mono in.

I haven't tried this one yet but dropout between presets is unusual for Boss. Maybe there's a setting there that can be changed?broslinger wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 6:21 pm Got my DM101. It's AWESOME. This is my kind of thing. Man. Beautiful.

I'm in this camp too these days. I got way into fiddle f'kg around with old rack gear for a couple of years. I even picked up a MPX-1 and figured that out but it's such a pain in the ass I barely use it now and would struggle with it if I tried programming it today.
I bought a FM3 a couple of years ago and lately I've been using that in my Efx loop for effects because it's so damn easy to use and the effects are amazing. I picked up a cheap midi pedal and use that to switch between scenes. It can be a pain in the ass changing back and forth from modeling use with a DAW to mono use in the EFX loop of an amp though.
I'm thinking of grabbing a SDE-3 or SDE-3000 for use with my amp. It kind of doesn't make sense to go with the SDE-3 when the 3000 is so close in price and does so much more but there is something to be said about the simplicity of the smaller pedal. I really don't want another complicated effects unit. I think I just want a decent sounding dual delay pedal that's easy to use.

Re: Boss SDE-3000D for $250 at Sweetwater
I spent some time with the 3000D over the past two weeks and decided to keep it. Keeping the DD-500 for now as well but that could be on the block when I start my annual gear purge at the beginning of the year.
Even though I am not a tweaker and will be setting and forgetting for the most part, I like being able to make quick tweaks by pushing a button on the front of the pedal. The only thing I need to do is learn how to bump the level for a lead volume boost when I kick in the a second longer delay which is the way I have the DD-500 set up now.

I agree with this. If you don't need presets, the SDE-3 is much more user friendly and sounds great.Riffraff wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 2:21 ameyeball987 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:54 am The above comments are my main gripe with these types of units. Yeah the master volume affects both delays.eyeball987 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 3:32 pm I spent some time with the 3000D over the past two weeks and decided to keep it. Keeping the DD-500 for now as well but that could be on the block when I start my annual gear purge at the beginning of the year.

I think the easiest to do this would be to have 2 different presets for rhythm and lead and just switch between the 2.
I'm currently using 4 presets and changing them with a Tech21 MIDI controller.

I'm a little tempted to do the SDE-3. The 3000 deal isn't available to us Canadians, but I also wouldn't really use it to its full capabilities
One day later, I have ordered the SDE-3
