I figure this happens before they're even available to try. Cork sniffers gotta get a leg-up these days, or they're just trend-hoppin'.
Well, in that case, lets get this party started.
I haven't tried one, but I don't think it sounds like a real IIC+.
I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the number of highly detailed essays I’ve read the last few weeks about why it will guaranteed sound nothing like the original/cash grab by Gibson/ blah blah blah
Btw my actual IIC+ is for sale, Mike B. Nutted on it himself I have the papers
Or even funnier, my Mark III is for sale and totally commands a $3k price tag

The Mark III prices are the worst for sure haha. IIC+s have been up there for a long time, so that's not really a surprise. They're a collector's item at this point. But a Mark III? Suck my sweaty desert balls lol. $3k. What a fucking joke lol. The IV prices are at least not 4x what they're worth like the IIIs lol.
I like 5150s. The rest of you bullshit amps can get fucked.

Yeah ridiculous
I did end up grabbing that purple stripe a few days ago but scored it for only $900 which is basically unheard of for any IIi these days lolol . With the HX stomp Mesa GEQ in the loop it’s insanely brutal, no regrets

i thought the world wanted a new iic+, kinda surprised it seems like so many people are wanting it to fail. if its even 95% close to mine and they got the feel right, which is what really separates it from other amps for me, $3600 is a fucking bargain

Imo… from what I’ve seen the only people that want it to fail are anti-Gibson internet dweebs, and doofuses trying to guard their investments in OGs (and for whatever reason, IIIs too )
And both those groups are doing their best to be loud as possible

Considering that none of us really know what the amp even remotely sounds like yet it is pretty easy to spot out the disingenuous folks that are showing their cards way to early and there’s a whole fuckload of them

Yeah I’ve seen some of the bullshit “It’s not th original 105 transformers so…” and so fucking what? It’s a Schumacher transformer. So Peavey is able to re-engineer the OG 5150 transformers but that’s impossible for Mesa? Also knowing Mesa and their attention to detail, this will be a well built amp. It’ll definitely be better built than the first 1959RI’s (not bad sounding amps but everyone screamed they didn’t have hand wired boards).
Also the people that over value their IIIs are insane. Don’t get me wrong the III is a cool amp. I’d love to have one again for under $1K. Maybe $1500 for a loaded combo. But they’re not a IIC+. Even with the III+ mod, it’s close but not the same. Probably close enough for most folks tbh. But I called Mike B years back and said between adding the R2 channel and the layout of the Mark III board vs the II, they’d never sound exactly alike. And I’m sure he still stands by that.
More guitars than anyone could need

Metropoulos Slant 2x12 G12H75 Creambacks.
The only thing I’ll add is… and I’m not all that interested in this. Lol. But… the shop I’m at is literally one of the biggest Mesa dealers in Illinois and has been for almost 20 years. We’ll definitely get a few of these and I can see what the hubbub is all about. Having owned a JP2c for awhile, I’m sure I’ll like it. But if it could get maybe a bit “wider” in the lows I can see that being a good thing. I really had no complaints of the jp2c. Besides maybe that. And that it seemingly suffered from the same issues as any amp, but apparently Marks are more prevalent in that you’d swear you’d have the perfect settings. Finally dialed in all the sliders juuuust right. It’s literally god-tier tone. And then tmro… I’m moving the sliders again. Lol.
