Upon first listen, I'm not liking it.
Very bright sound. Doesn't seem to sound as warm as my rackmount RDE2500. This buffer seems to be messing with my overall tone, and I'm usually a Boss buffer fan. It made my whole rig sound weird. Wondering if there is a preamp I'm not familiar with in here.
Buttons are hard to press. I need to read the manual. Editing doesn't seem super intuitive.
That said, I didn't like my RE201 at first, and now I love it. I know to trust Boss when it comes to delay.
What I like.
cool display.
Good switches.
tap tempo is very crisp and accurate.
I sort of want to buy a DM101 now.
Go into the menus and adjust the high and low pass filters. They come flat, and results in a really bright delay. I have mine lowered to 1.5k, I believe.
Use the < button to check your input level and look at the manual to see if it is clipping.

Yeah this. Check the filters and levels.
This pedal is not very intuitive to program but it sounds great once it's dialed in.
It sounded better today, but i will play with the eq and input levels. Saving a preset is proving to be impossible at this point. Lol. Gotta read the manual.
I'm going to try and dial in the DD-500 or SDE-3000 for a chorus sound like Leon Todd has in this video at around 9:18 or so in the video.
Anyone know how to turn off the "ducking" aspect of the delays on the DD-500? I believe it is by setting the ducking sensitivity parameter, but it doesn't quite explain how to turn it off in the manual. Boss' manuals could be a lot more helpful if they properly explained the parameters and options. That is across the board, too.
I have the Flight Time delay. It's been my main delay for the past 2-3 years. I've been A/Bing the SDE and FT to see which one I like the most. The SDE does a lot more than the FT but I think the FT sounds a bit better. So the jury is still out.
As for the ducking, I don't have a DD500 here to look at it but if there is a threshold/sensitivity control for the ducking, set it to 0dB and it would effectively turn it off.

There is Ducking Sens, Pre Ducking, and Post Ducking. The Pre and Post Ducking are at 0, but Ducking Sens is at 50. Even so, it still seems like it is on. Would I set Ducking Sens to 0 or 100? I wish they just had "Ducking on/off" followed by those three settings if you had it on.
The above comments are my main gripe with these types of units. If you are a tweaker, they are great! I am not, and find them annoying until I find what I want, and then forget how to use them again.
I lean toward using Youtube, or Billy, for advice on how tweak the digital stuff. And then forget how to use it again after I get what I want. Age and not giving an F about opinions probably has something to do with it.
