Re: Mesa Marks...again
Not to hijack RAF’s thread but…
Chieftain combo. It is potentially the nicest amp I’ve ever played let alone owned. So clear sounding and the high end response is just amazing. I hate the buzz words but it feels “responsive,” and just incredible.

Yeah I don’t have too much experience with IV’s and V’s but I always really liked the III’s clean tones.spawnofthesith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 5:15 pmSurprised you didn't like the cleans on the IV. Marks in general (at least with the III-V I have experience with) are straight up my favorite clean tones of any amps ever

Not counting the IIC+, which requires a HELOC loan to buy these days, the III is my favorite. IV is a close second. After that, I only have experience with the V and the JP2C and I like them both, but slightly prefer the JP. I haven't played the VII yet.

Thanks man, it’s kind of unreal owning something in this class of gear. A part of me feels disgusted with myself. Probably honeymooning but I’ve played some nice amps and this one is really just a different experience.

Yeah, the IV is probably the way to go, but these prices are dumb, and I can't bring myself to do it lol.
I like 5150s. The rest of you bullshit amps can get fucked.
