New cab day

Got a Mesa 1x12 thiele with EVM. I’m a bit far from home, had it delivered to me at the venue. I’ll find out how it sounds during our set

theres a evm in my iic+ combo, i honestly havent even tried it. was thinking of putting it in one of my recording 4x12s and seeing whats up

Well how did the gig go?

Show was good, it was about an hour and a half outside our usual gigging area. Small crowd but probably as good as we could hope for in a small bar at 10pm on a Thursday being a weird “out of town” band

cab sounded awesome in the room, however I wasn’t able to really enjoy it during our set… sound guy was cool but the manner he was running sound was a bit…. Dystopian. Fully miced the drums but nothing else no guitar through the mains fortunately I had my captor and Ir loader with me so fortunately was able to run a direct feed for our in ears but ngl I kinda hated that. Fuck direct anything I need a miced cab in my in ears. In the future I’ll probably just start bringing my Sennheiser mic that I use in our practice space along with me to unknown circumstance gigs in case anything like that ever happens again lol





Crashed at my drummers house, intention for this cab is to kinda generally be paired with my Mark IV so I just left it there, don’t really need to be demoing a 200 watt speaker in my apartment lol. I’ll get a better sense of it and how it mics up at practice next week. It’s so cute and tiny

These so-called soundguys are the bane of my existence. Mic the whole drum kit but not the guitar??? WTF.


Glad the gig went well though. Looking forward for a review of the cab. The MkIV is the PERFECT amp to try out this cab with.
