So far the humbucker and single coil pair very well. Obviously, the humbucker sounds much bigger but there is not really any volume drop when between the two.

That was one of the finalists I was considering when I bought my San Dimas. If it wasn't such a heavy relic I would have bought that. I love the surface mounted trem and the Zebra JB. I usually don't go for white guitars either but one really caught my eye. Congrats man!
