Thanks, gents! Billy I agree. I love a 100 watt amp. I really do. But tone to cost ratio is excellent on the 50s here.

Spawn this thing is pretty easy to dial up. Sounds great with my 1960 with Greenbacks. Sounds good through the IRs too.

I saw that a few years back Fender started offering retrofits of the older amps to have the newer concentric volume and gains for channels 1 and 2. I live close to one of their authorized service places (they did some work on my old Helix and were great) so if they still offer the retrofit kits I may take it up to have that mod done. It’s not something I need right now, but would be nice to have all the same.

The concentric pots are nice to have but I’ve noticed I typically have the gain pots for both green and blue in the same spot anyway (although maybe the sweep is different). It’s most helpful for volume balancing for sure

It’s not a huge must have for me at this point. It’s more of a nice to have down the road type thing.

It’s going back. I tried a few things with it and there’s things I like about it but I don’t love. I think it’s just a bit too compressed for me and I like something a bit more open. Playing Marshall style amps has kind of ruined me for the super tight super compressed stuff anymore. They have a 10 day return policy and 30 day exchange so I’ll see if I want to exchange it first and if I don’t see something else I like, I’ll return it.

I like the 212 cab, but just cant get along with the conjested sound of the 6L6 EVHs. I'm not opposed to giving an Iconic another spin, but I'm done with the 5153 thing I think

I haven’t returned it for a DSL yet so I’m not quite following in our CEOwl’s foot steps but I’m gonna see what else they have. They do have a DSL there though. 2004 JCM2000 model no less. But that’s not what I want. I have the Marshall thing in spades.
