This quote caught my attention:

I hope this means Marshall will come out with some high gain amps for modern metal.
Diversifying their amp line, a bit more, couldn't hurt.

Marshall actually had a really decent tube/digital hybrid amp, the JMD:1 it was short lived because of reliability issues bit it actually sounded good.

It would be cool if they made plug-and-play mod circuits... a Jose mod (for example) that can be easily popped into a socket on the chassis.

The more I think about it , I don't think it would be possible. The various mod tap into different areas of the entire amp circuit.
It would be very difficult to route all the possible connections to one plug.
It was a good idea while it lasted!

I suppose, they could offer the Jose mod (or other popular mod) as an on/off switch.

Something like the Legendary Tones Hot Mod could work.

But I think they're talking about a Custom Shop/Mod Shop, like guitar companies have. That would be an interesting concept for amps, but it would probably be based in the UK. Although they have a vast network of service centers in the US that could perform the mods.
EVH did something like that for a while, offering a mod kit to upgrade the original 5150 50w to the new version with the concentric pots, through their service center network.
