The dual mids make this preamp really flexible. Raising the Hi mids and lowering the Low mids gives you Marshall type tones, the other way around is more like the typical ENGL and some Recto style tones. And you can blend the 2 and get all kinds of combinations.

Then there's 2 modes on each channel for 4 gain options., stereo loop, cab emulated out etc

It even has a separate output with a tiny 1.5w power to play at home without a power amp.

Lots of versatility in this preamp. I don't know why it isn't more popular.

No midi, doesn't have more knobs/options, and/or doesn't look cool.

Basically, isn't an ADA MP1, Fryette GP3, or Lee Jackson Perfect Connection GP1000 (or whatever the name is).

Edit: oh, and isn't more expensive. Apparently people think, "higher price, more toan!"

Also, Billy: do you need some rack screws? I can send a few if so.

Yeah while it doesn't have MIDI, it has relay jacks for all functions. So since the G-Major has MIDI controlled relays, I can program it to make all channels/modes change in the preamp via MIDI. :)

And thanks for offering the rack screws, man :thu: I have a box of them here so I'm good to go, but I appreciate the offer nonetheless!!

No problem. I just saw that you were missing some screws. The front panel corners can get messed up if screws are missing from my understanding, and thought I'd offer as I have a thing with about 30 of them.

I think the E530 is pretty cool, but that may be why some people don't view it as much of an option.
