Incoming Sun Face
I found a really good deal on a used BC108 Sun Face on reverb so I said fuck it and ordered it. I've considered germanium ones in the past, but I have some germanium fuzz faces already so I wanted to try a silicon one.
I'm surprised that Analogman has Sun Faces in stock available on his site, I always thought he made them to order.

Re: Incoming Sun Face
I need a Sun Face. That’s pretty much the only Fuzz Face variant I want. I’ve got Mort’s Coyote Fuzz which is also a cool FF clone, but if I do one Analogman pedal it’ll be the Sun Face. And congrats on your pedal dude! I’m sure it’s awesome!

I believe he only has certain ones "made to order" while several of the popular options are ready to ship. Congrats!

Yeah the Sun Face is great. I've been wanting one for years. I'll buy one once I recover from my recent purchases
It's an important pedal to have in the collection though, such a classic tone.

Should be sweet. All of my Sunface's are Ge. But I did recently get my first silicon FF(Chase Tone Fuzz Fella) and I love it.
Some pedals are must have.

Gawd, I've been wanting one forever! I've watched various transistor options disappear over the years. Now I don't think I can swing that kinda money on a new one. I have the Dunlop silicon and germanium ones (the big blue round one, and the big red round one). I love the clean up characteristics of the blue silicon one with my Strat. My Chase Tone Fuzz Fella doesn't clean up as well, nor sounds as aggressive as my blue Dunlop.

Re: Incoming Sun Face
The Sunface came in, I tried it and I can see the hype is warranted. Makes me wish I would have just bought one many years ago back when he still offered the NKT275, instead I cheaped out and bought NOS NKT275 and built a fuzz face that didn't sound that great.
Seller had it listed as a BC108C, it's actually a BC108B, which makes no difference to me. I put it up against my germanium MJM London Fuzz with ext bias and I found they had the same amount of fuzz.
I preferred the Sunface , it just sounded thicker and cut through better without being harsh. Even the silicon trannies cleaned up pretty nicely, different from the clean up on my ge fuzz, but still nice. Now I want to try one of his germanium ones.

Re: Incoming Sun Face
I had a BC108 Sunface and it was great but way different from my God tier NKT275 normal gain white dot Sunface. More aggressive and while it still cleaned up with the volume it was more gritty.
Happy new Sunface day!

Re: Incoming Sun Face
I think I'm going to buy a Sunface PCB off pedalpcb and try my hand again at making a clone using my NKT275's
I actually have a lot of matched sets of different Ge trannies that I should use up
