So I bought a 50s wiring harness for my LP, one of the volume pots is very scratchy, I've already had it cleaned a few times, I think maybe when my buddy was installing the harness he might have dropped some solder in there.
Anyways, I figure I just need to replace it. Here's what is stamped on pot:
CTS 1821 450S 525K
I can't find this pot anywhere, anyone have any suggestions and what I can order and where?

Re: Replacement Pot question
It's just a CTS 525k pot, the other codes are date stamps.. for the Les paul you need a long shaft so...

Re: Replacement Pot question
Hey Billy, is it possible that this LP has a deeper chamber and the long shaft is too long? Just from eyballing is looks like it is.
If so, I'd need this one instead, right?

Re: Replacement Pot question
Well it's possible but it the shaft is too long you could just use another nut at the bottom of the threaded collar to reduce the shaft's length a bit. But every Les Paul I've owned used a long shaft pot. I think some of the Custom Shop Historic models use a short shaft, but I never had one.
Another way would be to carefully take out another pot (without desoldering it) and and compare sizes.
Or even get both sizes. Pots are cheap.

Ok, I pulled a pot out, I shoulda done that in the first place lol...the others are short staff but I think i can make the long shaft work. This was a 2013 trad pro that had some extra electronics in the cavity I believe,
