Velcro fuzz sound recs?

Post by macgaj3 »

I've never been a fuzz guy, but I've got an itch for one that I can kick on for that splatty velcro sound. My setup isn't the most fuzz-friendly: LP style guitar with humbuckers into a mid-heavy gainy amp. Also needs to be pedalboard friendly in terms of size and power.

I’ve been looking into the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Haunt and Alpha Haunt. The Alpha is an expanded version that’s a bit more tweakable with sliders for a 3 Band EQ.

Links:

Haunt:

I’m probably buying the Alpha Haunt later this year.

I don’t know if it’s velcoish but the Data Corrupter is really cool too.

Predictably, I decided to ignore all advice given here. I went out on a limb and got the Keeley Fuzz Bender. It does the thing, and I think I may have finally found a fuzz that actaully works with my setup and (complete lack of) technique. And it doesn't seem to be picky about where it is in the chain, which is a big bonus.

Definitely recommend that interested parties check one out. Honeymoon phase is off to a strong start

I just recently got a Keeley Super Phat Mod (modded BD-2 circuit) that I love so I’m onboard with the idea of trying his Bender. I’m sure it’s awesome. Glad you dig it, dude!
