new Eminence Karnivore speakers

Kristian Kohle has been working with Eminence for like a year to develop these, and the clips have sounded great! Preorder for the actual speakers went live yesterday, so I ordered a quad. Should be about 4-6 weeks before they arrive.

In the meantime, I got the IR pack. Here is a clip. Regular shit these days...Bauer Strat, Hapas Leviathan pickup, Mark V on Extreme, Driftwood reactive load into my RME Fireface.

I can't wait to get these things and mic them myself. I am not sure what to load them into, though. I could do a 2x2 between my Mesa OS and Doronzo cab, mixing with V30s. Or I can cram them all into the Mesa OS or Doronzo cab. Tough choices haha. I know I will probably end up trying a bunch of combos with Redbacks and V30s, but I hate swapping speakers haha.

The IR sounds great. Any idea what these are based on? Sounds almost like a blend of V30 and G12 T75 to me.

Supposedly they're not based on anything. He talks about it a bit in his release video.

I saw that Jag video, too. Seems cool, but I'd like to hear it with some amps other than the Warhead.

That IR definitely has the right tone for brutality. Damn good sounding clip.

I've been seeing these pop up in the youtube circles where all the same guys get all the exact same gear on the exact same days and have to post how amazing it is, so I've been pretty skeptical about it. But it sounds good here, man. I look forward to hearing how they sound when you get yours mic'ed up yourself.

I'd be curious to hear it A/B'd against a V30, that way I have some perspective on what's the guitar/amp/production and what is the speaker.
