Pantera Rig Rundown
pretty cool
Re: Pantera Rig Rundown
I can only listen to Zakk say St. Dime so many times before I feel like my brain is leaking out of my ears lolol
This video is really comprehensive. Pretty cool. Zakk's guitars look terrible haha.

The St. Whoever/Father Whoever thing is a little ugh but his heart is in the right place and dude is still a ripper. NGL; I kinda lowkey like that red Warhammer guitar

This. Rex as well. I came away from watching that feeling just a bit...slower. Much respect for that whole crew, but damn. And Zakk's guitars are fugly. No nice way to put it.Guitarbilly wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 8:51 pm yeah, Zakk is clearly a smart guy given how well he managed his career over the years but goddamn hearing him speak hurts my brain

"I mean...you know...." *forgets what he was going to say* "I mean, batteries, Father King Edward, you know"
And Rex is a really slow talker. I usually understand spoken English fairly well, but I had to concentrate to hear and understand him.
Still a great video, though.

Re: Pantera Rig Rundown
As someone who's rig shares a lot of similarities with Rex's, I'm always interested in what he's doing.
His sound is pretty straight forward... a blend of clean and dirty DI with a mic on the cab. Used to be a SansAmp for the clean/dirty, looks like he's now blending a Nobel DI and an Origin Bass Rig.
I do wonder what's hidden under the towel in his rack...
Occasionally add some more distortion and/or a wah, and that's all there is to it.

Yeah man Rex bass tone is so iconic. One of the best. It's shocking how simple his rig is.
