Budda V20 Superdrive

Post by Zeegler »

I've never owned a Budda. Never played one either.

There's a minty V20 Superdrive 1X12 combo for sale near me. $640

Sounds like a good deal. Anyone have any experience with Budda stuff?

Looks just like this

Yes, Jeff Bober (Budda's original owner/designer) is local to me and I've taken a few amps for him to service and had the chance to play through a lot of his amps (Budda and his new company East Amplification). They all sound awesome. They're NOT metal amps at all, but they have a thick, liquid rock sound, kind of like a JTM45 that's been tightened and gained out. Really cool. I'd buy it for $640.

I had a SuperDrive 18 and it was cool. The only negative is it ran out of gas volume wise with my band.
Amps: Morris Sirrom
Guitars: Charvel SoCal MIJ, Assorted parts builds

Yeah, I assumed not great for metal, but I've been interested in lower gain rock amps a bit lately. I would also assume this is a Peavey Budda, but I'm not sure how to tell an original from a Peavey made one.

We'll see. I'm waiting for my tax refund.

Yep, the cream colored tolex and faceplate is Peavey. They sound the same though.

I always kinda wanted one of the Super Drive 45s with the KT66 power section. Souped up JTM45 is something I’ve always been interested in.

LOL, now a 30 watter pops up for the same price, but it's a 2 hour drive.
