New Marshall pedals... Lol!

Post by Spaced Out Ace »

Yikes. What an abysmal launch. The pedals were potentially leaked/posted early on Sweetwater (my sales engineer was dismissive of them when I reached out, lmao), not full EQ, $149 for Vietnamese made pedals (the English made reissue pedals are $189 for comparison), and on top of that, the initial video from Anderton's is HORRIBLE. Lee is completely uninterested in these, and they used a Marshall amp, yet they still sound muddy/not very much like a Marshall.

I told my sales engineer good luck on selling these, because they are completely missing the dart board.

Here is the awful video for all 3 of you legitimately curious, and the other 30 of you who want to pile on.

For those who legitimately want something better to fill the void these won't: Tech 21 British, Room 40, Super Crunch Box v2 (the one with 3 band EQ and Presence knob), the Sinvertek preamps, or a slew of other pedals (like the PedalPalFX stuff).

Is the "Marshall" name really worth picking subpar pedals over stuff between $150-$250 range that is vastly better? Lee and the guy from Marshall demoing the pedals seem entirely unenthusiastic and couldn't care less about them.

I assume some brainless boomer will buy them to add to a shelf above their Marshall fridge and other useless shit while they post on the Marshall FB group about how their TSL with mismatched Marshall cabs is the best thing ever.

My sales engineer at Sweetwater was pretty dismissive of these, and a lot of people online seem to be as well. They are pretty much a huge "MEH." The fact that they are this late to the MIAB party (though frankly, I think the Guv'nor/Drivemaster and Bluesbreaker count to an extent), with a tone knob, at this price point, etc. is pretty comical. They are playing catch up and are showing just how much they are losing ground. Kind of sad, really.

I have a few Funko Pops, but they are all horror related. The people who have like 8000 of them, including variants of shit they already own and so forth is just maddeningly silly. "But this ones rare and I had to buy it because it was 'only' $85!"

The presumption there is that they were purchased instead of gifted.
