Boss Tube Amp Expander Core

Post by Guitarbilly »

Boss is releasing a smaller version of the TAE. Half the size, 30w power amp and about half the price. Not sure if a 30w SS power amp would work for live, maybe it would. But it's cool for home playing.

$900 for a Fryette Power Station PS-2A with 50w tube power amp, or $700 for this with SS 30w power amp. I could see some having a use for both.

Yeah but it's not really a 1:1 comparison because this also has IRs, effects, MIDI etc. The Fryette is a much simpler unit but it does have the tube advantage.

That's why I said that I could see someone having a use for both.

Really want to get my hands on one to compare vs the big version. Blending IR's and a more friendly mobile interface is also a huge welcome change.
Too much junk to list with 255 characters.
