Excellent. Thanks very much for the info. Does the addition of the 2-prong outlet in the back make this a 'boutique' amp? Not sure who the 'Moore' person was, but obviously far ahead of their time.
Surely this thing is worth something ( outlet, Moore badge and original headshell notwithstanding)?

This amp in its complete original condition is worth a lot. Around $4-6k would be a good estimate.
This is definitely worth restoring. There's value in it not to mention it sounds awesome. But as with any vintage restoration, it needs to be done right.
I'd suggest him send the chassis to someone like Pete Cage for the circuit restoration then get a repro tweed cab for it and a Jensen PM 15" speaker.
It'd probably cost around $800 to do all that, but he could easily double that money on a sale, maybe even nearly triple it.
This is really excellent advice that I will share immediately. He wants to plug it in and see what it sounds like but I suggested otherwise...surely some caps have to be replaced, etc. given its age - was this correct?
$800 seems quite reasonable given the potential resale value. Do you have any contact info for Pete?
I cannot overstate my gratitude for you (and all GGF members). I am sure you can 'look behind the curtain' and see that I drop into this forum damn near every day, and y'all never fail to entertain and educate.
Thanks again

I don't know where you are located, you may have to ship the chassis to him, but I think it's worth it because you want to work with someone who really knows how to restore a vintage circuit and not only "fix the amp"
Obviously the restored amp won't sell for nearly as much but you still can get a considerable amount for it since the chassis/circuit is still the original.
