Re: ToneZone halp me understand
I’ve even tried modding em with different mags and the a5 wins. Half aired tone Zone, actually might help solve issues for people. It tightens up and lowers the output some. I have done many of the same mods. My favorite toneZone is one I half aired it with the magnet touching the slug side and put...

Re: ToneZone halp me understand
Maybe experiment with the height of the pickup. Some are really sensitive to the pickup height. The ToneZone is definitely one that is finicky about height. It is also a pickup that is not everyone's cup o' tea. ... I can not get along with the DiMarzio ToneZone that is in the bridge. Is this picku...

Re: NPD - Friedman IR-J is here - Review Vid
Yeah I use a SD1 with the IR-D for leads. For rhythm the preamp gain is enough. That is exactly what I would be doing as well with an IR-D. For now it is just not THAT much better sounding than my Tonex rig to justify the purchase. Once that soldano version drops though... :rawk: And I'm definitely...

Re: NPD - Friedman IR-J is here - Review Vid
I am interested in trying the IR-J when the opportunity presents itself. I was in DC for a conference last week and took part of my day to travel home to go by Atomic Music and Chuck Levins where I finally got to try out the IR-D. I liked the IR-D better than the IR-X but would definitely need a TS-...

Re: Looking for opinions - Ibanez ATZ10P
A 14" radius is pretty flat. You don't see much flatter than a 16" offered and most classic Gibson, PRS are 12". A 14" radius will sit between the classic Gibson and Ibanez feel. As to HSS with SS frets... The Ernie Ball Cutlass HSS, Kiesel Delos, Sire Larry Carlton, Ibanez AZ, T...

Re: Looking for opinions - Ibanez ATZ10P
Don't know about the Ibanez but the schecter nick Johnston signature is pretty sweet and in a similar vein I played one a year or so back. Great neck shape and the pickups sounded really fat. The only issue I had with it was the weight. The one I tried had to be pushing 10lbs. The ones I see on SW ...

Re: Looking for opinions - Ibanez ATZ10P
I played one of the Jet guitars a few months back at a local shop. For the price they were decent guitars. They were punching above their weight/price range honestly. The one I played was charvel/jackson like and for that super strat thing was pretty good.

Re: Looking for opinions - Ibanez ATZ10P
Probably my favorite Ibanez. If they made it in a satin black I would own it already. The neck carve is super comfortable (not a wizard neck profile) and the pickups are well matched and sound great.

Re: Guyker tuners: very good inexpensive hardware
I picked up a set of these a few weeks ago for my PRS acoustic. It was the only guitar in the house that gets played often that didn't have locking tuners. They seem pretty decent and hold tune well. I'm not completely sure the ratios are exact, but they get the job done.

Re: What are the go-to IRs right now?
I had used the York Audio IR's for a few years now but recently tried a few that came with a Tonex capture pack from Amalgam Audio and I think their "cabs" may be my favorites right now, at least for live use. There is a heft to them that feels more like a cabinet in the room, and they hav...
