Re: What are the go-to IRs right now?
I had used the York Audio IR's for a few years now but recently tried a few that came with a Tonex capture pack from Amalgam Audio and I think their "cabs" may be my favorites right now, at least for live use. There is a heft to them that feels more like a cabinet in the room, and they hav...

Re: What’re y’all digging on for dirt pedals these days?
Mike Fuller rules so much I bought several, so don't worry I gotchu bby. And that is fine. You do you. I am not anti-Mike because of the internet and his opinions and blah blah. I wrote his company off years before the crap storm. Between meeting him once and witnessing how he treats small music sh...

Re: What’re y’all digging on for dirt pedals these days?
I keep a few around for dirt with a clean amp or a tonex capture of a clean amp if running direct. The xotic BB Pre, SL Drive, and EP booster are favorites along with the Nobels ODR-1 and the TC Dark Matter and MojoMojo, and MXR GT-OD(the internal switch takes it from ts9 to sd1). I love the tone of...

Re: Synergy SLO-II available for preorder
Hoping this version ends up being the precursor to the rumored IR-SLO (hopefully in that purple). If not its going to be hard not to convince myself to pick up one of the single-module units and this module.

Re: Kit guitars
PVX guitars make a couple of PRS style kits I have nearly jumped on a few different times. They look really well made. They are also willing to customize some of the materials if you contact them. I was going to build a PRS SC style with a roasted maple neck.

Re: NGD - PRS Poverty Edition
The SE's are so good for the money. They are a cut above many of the import mid-price guitars. The SE Angelus 60E I have was a spectacular feeling guitar right out of the box. It sounded better and played better than the Taylor I went to look at for less than half the price. The Starla SE I rebuilt...

Re: NGD - PRS Poverty Edition
Love the top on that CE24!! Are those the stock 85s? I really like how they sound on my semi hollow ce24 but basically always prefer the aesthetic of covered pickups Nope, I found the 85/15s to be thin-sounding for what I play and this guitar is bright. I have had probably 5-6 sets of pickups in th...

Re: NGD - PRS Poverty Edition
You know, I have an uneven ratio as well currently. :hmm: That NF53 would make it an even ratio of US to SE. I have the CE24 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AP1GczNNmEJsVold0HnDqU3vgE-tynafzqe6hyzFJuLDgzWNIHu3n7TOz3NlNGbVVRUHRZSOsJKJIIZVmJPWUyxhlbm8rIr3wxY-icusJyeShxQXBr1V0vz-nblgdJRzJyekTcTZpX...

Re: NGD - PRS Poverty Edition
Got a chance to play the SE Silver Sky and the SE NF3 over the weekend at one of the local shops. They are both excellent guitars. I think the NF was my favorite of the two. A little fatter sounding with those pickups and I liked the neck profile more. Some nice candy metallic colors as well. Both w...

Re: Why there are no more good SS amps?
The Orange Crush and Super Crush are like one of the few exceptions... I came to say the same thing. I saw Kings X this past Tuesday and Ty was playing an older Crush 100 head into two 4x12s. Gibson Les Paul gold top into a Line 6 HX Effects in 4CM into the orange. It sounded massive, but Ty could ...
