Re: PRS Dragonforce Signature guitar lol
Not my thing, but I think it's cool that PRS will give artists a blank slate. It's not just a Custom 24 with different paint and a questionable inlay with the artists name on it.

Is it safe to say 80s rock/metal is on a comeback?
Not the hair metal crap, but the actual 80s metal. I'm trying to figure out if it's on a bit of a comeback, or if it's a regional bubble I'm in. It seems like the kids who grew up with Rock Band (the game) are now starting rock bands. I'm seeing a lot of Priest/Maiden/Metallica influence, as well as...

Re: Possessed guitarist shot dead over tree trimmings SF, CA
Man dies in police shootout over a neighbour's tree trimmings... seems like a uniquely American way to die.

Re: I've come to realize
I've never considered that scenario and I'm not experienced with Miking my own cab. I doubt they'd stop using half stacks but what size cab do you find sounds best miked up, the 1x12? The one with a V30 in it. In all seriousness, when close mic'd on stage and heard through IEM I don't think the cab...

Re: I've come to realize
I think it's a little bit of column A (adapting to modelling), and a little bit of column B (adapting to reality of shows today). I think the competition from modelling has pushed them to evolve, but I also think demand from old dudes that can't carry a half stack is driving the industry. I've also ...

Re: I've come to realize
I get that, and I am looking forward to the day I can be happy with the modeling stuff and have a tiny rig. So much that I've tried all the major ones, as recently as last month when I had the Tonex. I want this tech to work out, but I just don't think it's quite there yet. The convenience is great...

Re: I've come to realize
I agree. It's not a fully developed technology yet. It has nothing to do with being digital. Take digital reverb for example. You can get a Lexicon from 1985 and nothing beats it to this day. They've gotten smaller, cheaper and with more options, but not better sounding. But digital distortion/amp ...

Re: I've come to realize
Anyone looked at a digital photo from 5, 10 years ago?
That's how I feel about modelling.

Re: So at practice yesterday.....
If left to my own devices I would only play my Les Paul. I tend to have a #1 guitar, for the last 22 years that's been a Les Paul, and when doing my own thing everything that isn't my #1 Les Paul gets ignored. The only reason I have a few options is because I play with others; therefore, I have a Te...
