Make sure he has gone through the ground lift settings in the swipe down I/O menu. There's a ground lift toggle for all the in/outs and I had to go through those myself.

The HX stomp isn't totally transparent but once I got the level at unity gain, the difference with/without the HX stomp is basically imperceptible.
