Re: NAD - Mesa Mrak VII
The 7 is very easily argued as the best Mark ever produced. I’m sure in some fashion the new 2c+ does sumthin a cunt hair better. Same with the IV or Jp2c, or even the old Mark III… but the 7 is prolly the best amalgamation of the best the Mark series ever offered

Re: Mesa reissuing the 90's era 2-channel Rectos
The 2c+ made sense. Kinda. I mean the JP2c should have filled that void. But whatver. I get it.. This is Gibson fucking Gibsoning another company they acquired. This may be a somewhat shrewd business move by trying to capitalize on the lore of specific amps and eras, but that’s what they are legit ...

Re: Used to like 'em stiff and hard, now I want 'em loose and floppy
Sorta weird mess to how I view strings. Overall they are all rather standard or slightly heavy, but I prefer more tension at HIGHER tunings vs low. I rarely tune standard but after setting up a 1000 guitars in standard E with 10s, that really does feel good and give good tone. In E flat mainly use 1...

Re: Getting the new album ready.... first track
Nice tone here. The song is solid. I mean, and I don’t think I’m saying anything negatively cause I think that’s exactly the vibe you are going for, but that feels like sumthin I heard growing up In the 80s. Familiar sounding I guess.

Re: EVH 100S vs Engl FB25
Evh has more low end and I thought a lot more mids. At least where the mids sit in respect to each amp. I guess the upper mids are broader in the ENGL but the Evh has a lot of those harder mids that are a bit lower in the frequency. They can be slightly problematic tbh. I mean some post eq moves gen...

Re: This got me back into Playing
I knew I had some clips handy. And i had started my habit of labeling the gear for the mad types of things. So Jubilee Boosted with a TS9, into a cab loaded with k100s and the Eminence DV77. Kinda crazy how I came to dislike both of those speakers but this sounds pretty damn good. https://app.box.co...

Re: This got me back into Playing
That is a really great sounding clip. I was able to borrow a friends Jubilee for a bit and got great tones out of it, but had to push the front end a bunch. I do recall blasting the master volume, and bass too Iirc, not sure what you mean by lead master “trick.”? But I looked briefly to see if this ...

Re: Dry ham?? Errr Drumjam!
Not getting traction?? Oh well. I’ll just turn it into another experiment clip thread of mine. So I’m slightly in the mood to create as much parity between my 5150s just to have as consistent tone for live shows as possible. I’ve literally brought EVERY one of my amps to a show. And we play fairly o...

Re: Dry ham?? Errr Drumjam!
Welp. ill keep it rollin.. Lol.. But I only need a small reason to record stuff.. And yesterday I replaced a broken Bass control pot on my old 5150 combo.. And thru much trial and error, cause while I managed to fix it and take a part the dread folded boards in the combo(it wasn't THAT bad, but did ...
