Re: ToneZone halp me understand

Love the TZ. It’s not right for everything of course, but I find it fat and balanced when it’s right and too bassy when it’s not. Like the bright, tighter and mid forward amps. Like say the 5152, 5153 stealth etx. I’ve even tried modding em with different mags and the a5 wins. Half aired tone Zone, ...

Re: Help Needed... Does anyone have a 21 fret Fender?

It could be a conversion. Just not from 25.5. I want to say I e seen fender short scale measuring 24.9/16 and 24.5 even. I know they have even shorter. But perhaps it’s a conversion from one of their shorter scales. Idk.

Re: Help Needed... Does anyone have a 21 fret Fender?

Actually if the 12 5/16ths to the 12th fret is spot on and I’m not sure why you wouldn’t measure that carefully. Lol. It’s not 24.75. It’s a short scale fender 24 5/8ths, which is why you are off an 1/8

Re: Help Needed... Does anyone have a 21 fret Fender?

But I have a Warmoth 24.75 conversion and it’s 17 23/32nds to be exact or just shy of 17 3/4

Re: Help Needed... Does anyone have a 21 fret Fender?

So I think you are going for a short scale based on your last post. If you have a reading of 12 5/16 from nut to 12th fret. A 25.5 scale fender doesn’t change the heel or where the fretboard sits it just adds the fretboard overhang for the 22nd fret. But if you are going off a mustang or whatver are...

A week ago, I guess. My amp went down at the show, so certainly would have been incredibly short notice! Lol. But I ended up working out a fix to finish the night.

Playing in a cover band is good for basically 2 things.. The money. And the crowds are better. But it sucks cause I really don’t care what “original” is. If I can make it my own, I want to. And if you are a Slayer fan, maybe one of their most boring, but popular songs is “Mandatory Suicide. It’s act...

Re: Amp/tube failure last night and why 100watt amps are better!

Yeah that wouldn’t really work well for this. It’s literally just the metal grate. I believe the Marshall has a wood frame holding the grate. I think? Anyway, it’s 4 screws. Took no more than a minute to get those 4 out. And likely like 30 seconds. They are coarse thread 5/8th screws so just a few t...

Re: Amp/tube failure last night and why 100watt amps are better!

That’s awesome. I’m glad it worked out. I’ve always kept that trick in the back of my mind. I learned it from a guitar world article when i was a noob back in the 90’s. I hardly ever play gigs, and I’ve had issues the last two years. Thanks man. And another reason to keep Guitar world in print Eh? ...
