Re: Amp suggestions
Was the lynx you played a newer one or an older one? The original version is more of a heavy rock tone. The new ones feel like they're built to go after the whalefart crowd. the oldies aren't very common but there is one for sale on r-t right now https://www.rig-talk.com/forum/threads/2008-badcat-ly...

Re: Gigging musicians: how many of you have ACTUALLY downsized?
I was a full stacker until I actually started gigging and went to half-stacks. Dropped it to a 2x12 combo when i started touring Dropped it to a 1x12 combo when i got old and tired of the weight. The last gigs I played were with a 15-watt bad cat, and it was more than enough amp. The new 3-piece I'm...

They're so good. I haven't had a chance to play the newest generation, but I have Lynx and a Hot Cat 15. Both rip.

Re: Velcro fuzz sound recs?
Predictably, I decided to ignore all advice given here. I went out on a limb and got the Keeley Fuzz Bender. It does the thing, and I think I may have finally found a fuzz that actaully works with my setup and (complete lack of) technique. And it doesn't seem to be picky about where it is in the cha...

also, when you inevitably flip it, you'll get to say "clean unmodded 800" rather than having to go into the weird details of what you did, why they should trust your handiwork, and how to undo it if they just want a stock amp

Velcro fuzz sound recs?
I've never been a fuzz guy, but I've got an itch for one that I can kick on for that splatty velcro sound. My setup isn't the most fuzz-friendly: LP style guitar with humbuckers into a mid-heavy gainy amp. Also needs to be pedalboard friendly in terms of size and power.

Re: NAD
Dude I love that your entire amp wall is just black on black on black on black on black on black.
Paint the face of the 51-50watter so it fits in.
