Re: I need help with ground loop/noise issues with my Helix LT
Take one of those cheap cables you currently have and unsolder the ground wire on one end. Use it as cable #4 of your 4cm (from the Helix output to the amp's fx return), with the ground lifted end on the Helix side. See if that helps. I'll give this a whorl on the new cables I have coming it The ch...

I need help with ground loop/noise issues with my Helix LT
I've been having issues with noise with my home amp rig setup. I think it might be a ground loop issue. I finally got a decent power supply with power conditioning built in for my amps and effects hoping that would help. It actually does except when I run my Helix in the FX loop. I'm assuming it's t...

Re: To neck dive or not - 2024 Gibson SG content VOTE
It there a vote option "neck dive or not, these aren't that cool"? I don't like 24 fret SGs and I really don't like SGs this churched up. They are supposed to be rock 'n roll machines, not lawyer collectibles, IMO

Re: Jerry Cantrell interview with Rick Beato
This is a pretty cool interview! I jammed alot of AiC when I first started playing guitar, so Jerry Cantrell was a pretty big influence for me. I also love his solo stuff. This makes me want to check his new stuff and AiC's newer albums. I never got past Black Gives Way to Blue. Not sure why because...

Re: BOTR 2024: Best Small Pedalboard/flyrig (less than 7 pedals)
While I have several more pedals and a Line Helix LT, I typically don't use alot of effects. I would like to get a slight bigger board so I can get a modulation pedal of some sort, but the analog delay adds some depth when needed. Sometime I swap it out for my MXR Uni-Vibe. The Dunlop mini wah is pr...

What are the go-to IRs right now?
After finally getting some time with a Captor I was able to get my computer and DAW working right and sounding good with the Captor. So, what are the go-to IRs right now? I realized the Celestion ones I got a while back don't sound that great and the Wall of Sound stuff that came with the Captor are...

Re: BOTR 2024: Best Budget Rig $1200 or Less
I actually enjoy this rig alot. It's my grab-n-go setup for jamming with friends, but I would gladly use this for a gig in place of my halfstack. Jackson Dinky JS32 - $350 (got it for free from a friend, but putting fair value on here) Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz pickups - $160 Jet CIty JCA 5012C - $250 ...

Re: Splawn or Friedman?
I am going to go with Friedman because it's closer to a hot-rod Marshall feel . The Splawns definitely get the Marshall tone but they feel different. They're tighter and stiffer. Almost like a cross between a Marshall and a Fryette. Both brands are great but Friedman is closer to Marshall IMHO. Exa...

Re: Les Paul custom bridge pickup suggestion
For PAF tones, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates are my go-to. For higher gain tones I like the Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom. I agree with these. Pearly gates is really good in the right guitar. I’d also recommend the Duncan High Voltage. Prolly my favorite “hot PAF” Duncan makes. Pearly gates being 2nd. T...
