What are the go-to IRs right now?

After finally getting some time with a Captor I was able to get my computer and DAW working right and sounding good with the Captor. So, what are the go-to IRs right now? I realized the Celestion ones I got a while back don't sound that great and the Wall of Sound stuff that came with the Captor are...

Re: BOTR 2024: Best Budget Rig $1200 or Less

I actually enjoy this rig alot. It's my grab-n-go setup for jamming with friends, but I would gladly use this for a gig in place of my halfstack. Jackson Dinky JS32 - $350 (got it for free from a friend, but putting fair value on here) Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz pickups - $160 Jet CIty JCA 5012C - $250 ...

Re: Splawn or Friedman?

I am going to go with Friedman because it's closer to a hot-rod Marshall feel . The Splawns definitely get the Marshall tone but they feel different. They're tighter and stiffer. Almost like a cross between a Marshall and a Fryette. Both brands are great but Friedman is closer to Marshall IMHO. Exa...

Re: Les Paul custom bridge pickup suggestion

For PAF tones, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates are my go-to. For higher gain tones I like the Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom. I agree with these. Pearly gates is really good in the right guitar. I’d also recommend the Duncan High Voltage. Prolly my favorite “hot PAF” Duncan makes. Pearly gates being 2nd. T...

Re: BOTR 2024 Rules and Discussion Thread

What exactly does "fair market value" mean on the budget category? I know it might be a dumb question, but my neurodivergent brain is not processing the definition of that phrase right now

Re: What’re y’all digging on for dirt pedals these days?

I'm mainly using a EQD Monarch pedal for boosting the crunch channel on my amps. I like to set my crunch channel just past the point it starts to break up and then boost it to my desired level of distortion. I have a Fulltone OCD V4 and a BBE Green Screamer I like to play around with, but the Monarc...

Re: 5150 with H9 Micropitch plugin

Alright, y'all got me curious about micropitch harmony with my Jet City amps. I found a variation of it on my Line 6 Helix. It does the micropitch, but only + or -, not both. I went with - and holy hell does this sound good! I could only imagine how much better Eventide's stuff sounds! Yeah, a Solda...

Re: Finally Got My Home Music Room Together!

Looks awesome man!!!! I really miss my old JCA LTD. That was a great amp. Did you buy yours from me? I sold it here in the forum but I can't remember to who  But yeah that's a powerhouse of an amp. Possibly the best amp JCA made. No, I bought this one from Ciffenstein a few years ago. It's def...
